Bring it home LeBron...bring it home..

I spent the better part of last night and this morning not knowing what to write about Game 6, and the penultimate Game 7, as the Cleveland Cavaliers look to bring home their first NBA Championship in the history of their franchise...

...and in the history of my 44 years.

I couldn't put my emotions into words, partially because of the depth, and partially because of the fear to put it into words. I couldn't get the Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown feeling out of my head.

So I'll keep it simple. Screw it. Screw Charlie Brown analogies. Screw the Montage of Misery. Screw the Narrative.

LeBron came home.

I flipped to YouTube and found all the "I'm coming home" videos I could find...and wept (I dare you to click play on the video below...I just dare you). Sports is stupid like that. How could they be so important?

Win or lose, LeBron came home. In doing so, the Cleveland Cavaliers became relevant again...they became a contender...they have a chance to win a title. So as I sit here, incredulously on the precipice of being a Cleveland fan watching a Cleveland team competing for a title, I can't stop thinking about LeBron James coming home.

Shoot, we all know how complicated it is. We all remember July 8, 2010, when LeBron left for South Beach. We all remember the four years in between, the burnt jerseys and ridiculous returns, and multitude of first picks in the first round. We all remember the overtures, and LeBron returning for Z's jersey retirement. We all remember the mysterious plane ride, and...

...We all remember July 14, 2014.

That's the day LeBron came home.

So as I sit here, literally in tears, thinking about how complicated it is to be a Cleveland fan, how complicated it is to be a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, and how complicated it is to be a LeBron James fan...I can't help but think but one simple thing...

Bring it home LeBron...bring it home.

I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home."
 Earn it...and thank you...
